Purpose

To provide a debt-free college education for eligible youth who attend the University of West Florida or Pensacola State College. Providing this home allows Embrace Florida Kids to play an integral role in the lives of students as they mature into adulthood and pursue a college degree.
Academic, Spiritual, and Social Development

The goal of our Higher Education Home is to cultivate growth in individuals with a focus on academic, spiritual, and social development. We provide students with a stable, loving environment where they can receive the resources and assistance they need to grow into successful young adults.

Program Requirements

Student must have applied to an institution of higher education in Pensacola and meet the following requirements:

Student must have a high school 2.5 GPA or higher
Student must have lived in a foster home or alternative living arrangement (other relative, family friend, church member, teacher, adoptive family, etc.)
Student must show good moral character and leadership abilities
Student must agree to live in a Higher Education Home

Applications to live in a Higher Education Home are generally due by the first week of April every year for consideration for the following fall semester. However, we accept applications year-round. We will consider an application at any time of the year if we have an opening in our home.

This scholarship program will renew annually if the following requirements are met:

Scholar is on track to graduate according to guidelines the scholarship committee has established
Scholar continues to display good moral character
Scholar adheres to all policies of the scholarship home
